Most websites use some form of cookies to improve the user experience. The challenge is often knowing which cookies are used and on which pages they are set. That's why we built a complete scanner that finds, identifies and categorizes cookies in minutes. It also creates a complete table that is published in the site's cookie policy and is updated when changes occur.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) does not load the scripts until the user has given their consent, which is important to comply with cookie law. It's also worth noting that this affects how much traffic is recorded as the user can choose to deny the registration.
As part of the installation, a cookie policy needs to be set up. Generation provides an example policy that can be used as a basis, but the responsibility for the final wording lies with the website's publisher. The policy should also include a description of the cookies used, how they are categorized, the purpose of the cookie, and the storage time.
We generate the list when installing G-Cookies and when adding additional scripts to your website. Therefore, it is important that you update the list if you add scripts to GTM yourself. The design for the cookie popup is done according to standard execution and is verified by Generations' lawyers. Deviations from the design can be made but are done at the requester's own risk.
Installation and parameter setting is fast, but we need a few things to do the work.
Step 1
Login credentials to an existing GTM (Google Tag Manager) account. If you don't have one already, we can help you set one up.
Step 2
Information about any specific tracking set up for example clicks on links/form submissions.
Step 3
An admin login for the installation of the plugin and settings. Confidentiality agreements can be written in advance.
